$1.8 billion Powerball jackpot won: 2 people will split 2nd-largest prize in game’s history

There were two jackpot winners in Saturday night’s drawing for the estimated $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot. They will have to split the massive prize.

Two tickets matched all the numbers for Saturday’s Powerball jackpot drawing, and one of those was sold in Missouri, according to the Missouri Lottery.

The winning numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61 and 62, with a Powerball number of 17. The location where the ticket was sold hasn’t been revealed, but will be announced within 72 hours, a news release from the Missouri Lottery said.

The Missouri winner will split the jackpot, worth $1.787 billion, with the Texas winner. The Missouri Lottery said that jackpot is the second-largest in U.S. history.

“We encourage this winner to take their time and get proper legal and financial advice before coming to our Jefferson City headquarters to claim their prize,” Missouri Lottery executive director Lester Elder said in the news release. more
